Common Snipe

Common Snipe
Common Snipe (Gallinago colchicus) nest in the northern Palearctic from central Europe and north, in Iceland, UK, Faroe Islands, the Azores and in much of Russia and northern India. The northern poulations are migratory birds. Pale western Arctic breeding birds are wintering in areas around the Mediterranean, also in Northern Africa and the Atlantic coast while Asian breeding birds spend the winter in India, China, Southeast Asia and the Philippines. The birds that breed in Britain, Denmark, the Netherlands and parts of France are resident birds.

Woodcock

The Woodcock (Scolopax rusticola) occurs over large parts of the temperated and subarctic Palaearctic and its breeding range extends from Fennoscandia to the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands, and from Western Europe to Russia.

The Great Snipe (Gallinago media) is found in Eurasian coniferous forest from Norway east to the Yenisei in Russia.

Jack Snipe
Jack Snipe (Lymnocryptes minimus) breed in the northern parts of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. Jack Snipes are migratory, spending the non-breeding period in Great Britain, Atlantic and Mediterranean coastal Europe, Africa, and India.
